Additionally, HMRC have published a consultation document seeking “views on the case for allowing a mass balance approach for the allocation of chemically recycled plastic to plastic packaging, and the controls that should be introduced to ensure the integrity of the tax”.

The deadline for response to HMRC is 11.45pm on Tuesday 10^th October 2023.  This is a full 12-week consultation period.

Members are able to submit a response directly, however BPIF is working with other Federations across the packaging sector to align behind a collective industry response so far as is possible.
