The OP industry pay their respects to Hamish Thomson
The death has been announced of SJB Thomson, known to the trade as Hamish. He was 82.
Hamish Thomson owned and ran The Modern Office Equipment Company in Glasgow during the 70s 80s and early 90s.
He was a great and active supporter of the BOSS Federation and held the office of Secretary of the BOSS Scottish Branch in the late 80s and went on to be the BOSS UK President from 1990 to 1992.
Hamish and his wife Dorothy were regular and popular figures in the Office Products scene and many of his peers can re tell wonderful stories of this colourful character.
Graeme Chapman, Chairman of the BOSS Benevolent Fund and life long friend said "Hamish and I would often take advantage of long summer days by nipping off to the Highlands in the late afternoon (not before!) to climb a few wee Munroes (Mountains), followed by Hamish's favourite medicine - a wee dram with stream water. He was a true Scot and a gentleman who lived life to the full with his love of family, sailing, climbing and visiting his favourite island, Islay, where for many years Hamish and Dorothy had a country cottage."
A fantastic crowd gathered for his funeral on December 2nd and afterwards to celebrate his life at one of his favourites - the Strathblane Country Club.
