BPIF Apprentice is highly commended in the National Apprenticeship Awards

BPIF Apprentice is highly commended in the National Apprenticeship Awards

Joshua Thomas, of Hobbs the Printers, has been highly commended in the South Central Advanced Apprenticeship of the Year category. With a huge number of applications for the National Apprenticeship Awards, the entries covered all trades across all industries, not just the printing industry.

Josh Thomas joined BPIF Members, Hobbs the Printers, in 2007, working there alongside his college studies. When interviewed, Josh stated that "it wasn't until I took on a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in print finishing that my career excelled. It has proven immensely rewarding, and given me a number of added responsibilities." Deputy Managing Director of Hobbs, Graham Bromely, stated, "at Hobbs we have always taken training extremely seriously and we are therefore extremely proud of Josh's achievement.  We are also thankful to the BPIF, and Andy Bracey in particular, for the support and encouragement given to Josh."

Andy Bracey, Operations Manager of the BPIF and Training Co-Ordinator for Josh said, "to be selected from such a large number entries is great, and Josh should be extremely proud of himself. He's put a lot of work into his apprenticeship, and deserves the recognition that he's received"

When asked about his apprenticeship in the printing industry, Josh said "I have always enjoyed working in print, and getting the opportunity to start an apprenticeship in print was a massive bonus. I wouldn't hesitate for a moment to recommend a print apprenticeship to a friend. A print apprenticeship is always educating you, always challenging and it will help you build skills for moving forward. Print is such an interesting industry to learn, gain qualifications and experience in."

Josh is looking forward to shortly beginning his Level 5 Higher Apprenticeship in Print Management to help him progress further in the printing industry.
