Solar Panel Project
Solar panel installation has proved very effective for one Worcester based Company. Millvale Limited based in Evesham had been looking at the concept for both environmental and cost saving reasons for a couple of years and their decision to take a leap of faith has paid off. Their solar panel system eventually cost £18,500 for 10kw comprising of forty two 230w LDK polycrystalline panels. Added to this is the extra saving they make on generating their own electricity. The electricity tariff has also been reduced since.
Whilst the efficiencies were never going to run the presses, they do make a significant dent in the energy outlay over the rest of the factory. The initial cost outlay was slightly more than originally anticipated due to a larger surface area of the factory being deemed suitable however, so were the paybacks. In the first year with the system in place, the Company has accrued cost savings in both energy and peripheral costs.
Mark Raxter - the Company's Managing Director said "We have generated a significant payback in our first year with an 11.1% return on our investment"
Local grants and/or loans can often be found to assist with costs for this kind of project as well as some tax benefits. Please see the BPIF 'Funding Finder' on: www.britishprint.com
