Can Print Futures help your young employees?

Can Print Futures help your young employees?

Training and education are vital for our industry's future. The problem for many print and print-related companies is having the spare cash to fund training and this is where the annual Print Futures Awards come in.

Cash grants of up to £1,500 each are available to help people aged 16 to 30 years pay for any costs associated with relevant courses or training sessions as part of lifelong learning and development in the workplace.

Applicants do not have to be in formal education or undertake a course that results in a "certificate". We are looking for them to undertake training that will benefit their career in our industry.

Past winners have used their Awards to pay for:

  • a forklift training course and HGV licence
  • travel to training courses
  • computers, laptops, and software
  • course fees and materials, including online study courses
  • childcare while undertaking training
  • email marketing courses and use of Social Media for business
  • speaking and presentation courses for work
  • living expenses while training
  • travel costs to Germany to undertake training in specialist embossing techniques not available in the UK

The range of work winners have been involved in has varied from customer care and marketing to machine minders.

The Print Futures Awards open in January and Awards are given in July. See www.printfuturesawards.com for more information.
