BOSS Weekly Good News Update

Welcome to our weekly good news update.  Once again we are calling on our members generosity to support Comic Relief in donating stationery to under privileged children in third world countries with Office and educational products that otherwise may go to landfill.

Last year in conjunction with Comic Relief, Africa Educational Trust and DHL hundreds of children from Juba, South Sudan were given pens, pencils, pads and other basic learning equipment which children in the UK take for granted.  All of this was possible through BOSS members kindness and generosity.

Jackson Okello, the Africa Educational Trust's Resource and Open Learning Centre Manager in Juba said:

"We are very grateful to all those involved in the donation of the stationery and learning supplies for South Sudan. South Sudan is the world's newest nation and we are working hard to establish a sustainable, high standard and successful education system for our people.

The container of stationery will be of great help to us in providing learning and teaching resources for students and teachers in South Sudan. Currently the Government is not in a position to provide every student with sufficient exercise books so this will go a long way to help. The items will be used to support students at secondary schools in South Sudan and teacher training institutes. The majority of donors and aid organisations are supporting primary education, which is very important, but it is hard to get support for secondary education in South Sudan so this is greatly needed. We thank you again."

Spicers have once again donated the use of one of their warehouses to store any donations.  If you have any excess stocks which you would like to donate to the benefit of charitable projects in third world countries in Africa please contact Cathy Priddle - [email protected] who will be able to give you more information on how to proceed.

We have already had promises of product donations from Paperchase, Superstat and Staedtler.  On a personal note I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all in advance.

Please keep sending in your BOSS good news updates to me at [email protected]. Your comments are appreciated.
