Alpha Colour win county NHS Trust print contract

Alpha Colour Printers have beaten off hundreds of competitors to land the prestigious contract to do all of Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, NHS Gloucestershire and the 2gether trusts high quality print work for the next three years.

The Quedgeley-based hi-tech printing company, will print all of the trust's colour leaflets, brochures and other official literature for three years with the possibility of a further year's extension.

Alpha MD Jeff Williams said: "Obviously we are delighted to win this contract against some pretty stiff competition. Initially there were hundreds of companies after the business although in the final stages it was down to about five or six.

"In the end it came down to a combination of the sheer quality of our work using the latest technology and equipment, the high level of service we give and of course, most importantly for the NHS, value for money."

Operations Director David Oldfield said: "Our equipment is absolutely state-of-the-art with a new Heidelberg XL75 Lithographic press and Heidelberg-Ricoh digital press installed earlier in the year, which both complement the existing equipment.

"The NHS is an excellent client to have in our portfolio and fits well with other quality clients such as Gloucestershire County Council, Worcestershire County Council and Cheltenham Borough Council.

"We cover a wide range of products, including annual reports and accounts, brochures, folders, greeting cards, packaging and business stationery. We can print anything from just a few digital copies to literally millions being printed lithographically on one of our 5 colour B2 presses. We also offer a number of specialist services including vinyl labels, large format printing and display printing right through to a fully integrated stock management system and world wide distribution. Our proven experience in these areas is sure to have contributed to our success in winning this important contract.

"Nowadays if you want to be successful you have to produce quality work time after time."
