OgilvyOne tells BPIF DIG “print is here to stay”

Close to 40 delegates from the BPIF attended a packed conference last Wednesday on the UK Print Industry Transformation organised by IBM and the BPIF Digital Interest Group at the IBM Warwick Conference Centre. Clive Fricker BPIF Regional Director who manages DIG said “delegates clearly feel this has been a very successful event. The discussions ranged over a variety of market sectors including books, promotional print and direct mail. I was delighted to hear Martin Barrett of OgilvyOne at the leading edge of promotional printing say that there is no sign print is going away from promotional media – print is here to stay!” Other presentations included: Marketplace trends and the impact on the UK print industry by Consultant Declan Rea; Digital printing opportunities for direct marketing by Martin Barrett, Project Director from OgilvyOne Worldwide; Kevin Dunn, Director of PHD Mail Solutions described his company’s growth and moving from direct mail to transaction print and Robert Cooper, Worldwide Business Line Manager of Continuous Forms Solutions IBM, flew in from the US to deliver his paper on the range of IBM support for print companies becoming value added service providers.
