Inprint Issue 68
December 2021 / January 2022

Welcome to the December/January issue of Inprint. Our beautiful festive cover for this edition is brought to you in collaboration with DecTek, so I’d like to say a big thank you to them. I can’t believe the festive season is already upon us. Hopefully it’s going to feel more normal than last year. A big thank you to all our members for your support throughout 2021, we look forward to a strong 2022 together.

Throughout 2021, we’ve continued with our virtual events – the Visual Media Conference (page 20) was a particularly successful example and were thrilled to host our first in-person event for a while – our Graduation and Awards ceremony (page 10). We also brought back our British Book Design and Production Awards in November to celebrate the thriving UK Book industry (page 11) – congratulations to all winners and finalists!

Looking towards the New Year, this issue explores potential business trends in 2022 on page 4, and BPIF Training offer updates on their plans for the year on page 10. We continue to strengthen sector-focused activities through our Communities of Interest, and have just launched our Environmental Road Map to support your requirements on this (page 18). We also have various roundtables and groups for you to interact and get involved with. As usual, our events calendar is on page 28, and our events page on the website is continually updated so keep an eye out.

Our most popular and requested document Facts and Figures is back, promoting the importance and scale of the UK print industry (page 22), and our Printing Outlook report gives you the industry’s financial round-up on page 24. There is also lots to get involved in, such as Lobbying, which our Public Affairs Adviser gives us more of an insight into on page 15.

I’d like to thank everyone who contributed to this issue, and hope that you find it useful.

From all of us at the BPIF, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Happy reading.
