Meet Napo – helping to make workplaces safer and healthier
The Napo films introduce safety, health and wellbeing at work through engaging characters, amusing storylines, and a light-hearted approach.
Because Napo is a cartoon character he can explore areas that would not be possible in drama or documentary films. He is indestructible and everlasting, unlike the workers we are trying to protect.
Napo films are designed to provoke questions and stimulate discussion - a blend of humour and cultural neutrality set in a cartoon style gives the Napo series its identity, and its universal appeal. The 'non-verbal' language of Napo makes the films suitable for a very broad audience.
The best way to use Napo
Napo films can be used in full as stand-alone films, or sequence-by-sequence because each scene is independent of the others.
Napo works well built in to 'Toolbox talks', in formal and informal training sessions, and in raising awareness.
Scenes from the Napo films can also be used in PowerPoint presentations. Ideally, showing Napo films or scenes from the Napo films should be followed by discussion.
We'd encourage you to use the films in any way you feel would educate your employees and enhance the safety culture within your business. An idea would be to show the Napo films on screens through your reception area, restaurant and/or canteen, plus intranet sites - Napo is a flexible tool.
