Inspiring the next generation
The BPIF continuously champion apprenticeships and engagement with schools, as we understand that they are the future generations of this industry and it is important to educate them on all the fantastic opportunities a career in print can bring.
We started this off at the beginning of the year by celebrating National Apprenticeship Week, where we held our first apprentice conference at Bluetree Group as well as attended the Leeds Apprenticeship Recruitment Fair.
This June and July we will continue this education to school children about our industry, by attending Apprentice19 and the Shine Awards.
First is Apprentice19, a two-day student event at The Guildhall in London, where 2000 are expected to attend. There we will be joined by members, Precision Printing, N2Group and Delga Group - and will be highlighting all the exciting opportunities printing has to offer in both career development and creativity, and reminding them that printing isn't just putting ink on paper.
In July we will also be attending the Shine Awards, where will have stand and will be showcasing to the school children the wide variety of different forms of printing, from an old letterpress to 3D printing.
You can also help inspire the next generation by going to career fairs in your local area, visiting local schools or hosting students on work experience, as this will ensure visibility of our industry to the next generation.
