Qualvis Print & Packaging win top regional business award

Qualvis Print & Packaging win top regional business award

Leading print & packaging firm, Qualvis, has won Company of the Year at the recent Leicester Mercury Business Awards. Celebrating success, recognising achievement and highlighting innovation throughout the business community in Leicestershire, the event is widely recognised as one of the UK's most important regional awards.

Leicester Mercury managing director, David Simms, said that "...the night paid tribute to the resilience and spirit of local Leicestershire business", adding that "...Qualvis in particular, has excelled as a business so it is only right that they should have been picked as our ‘Company of the Year' - congratulations go to the management and the whole team there".

Jason Short, Qualvis' managing director, said: "After 5 years of hard work and millions of pounds of investment, it's a huge honour to receive this award on behalf of everyone at Qualvis. The ‘Company of the Year' award recognises every employees efforts and dedication to help build a successful future."

Qualvis, who occupy a 76,000 sq ft site in Thurmaston, Leicester, were runners up in the ‘company of the year' category last year. The business has recently become the first packaging company globally to install a double digital packaging line. The workflow investment features a Xerox iGen 4 sheet-fed digital printer, side-by-side with an iGen5 automated line. The company has also invested in a seven-colour KBA Rapida 106 litho press, which will be used for printing confectionery, distillery, cosmetics and high-end food packaging. Both the digital packaging lines and the KBA press represent a total investment of almost £5m in seven months.

Dawn Reid, Regional Director for the Midlands said ‘this is a great achievement and the team should be very proud of themselves after all of their hard work'.
