Print is the fifth most enthusiastic business sector
During December 2016, Close Brothers' surveyed 900 SME owners across the UK. The survey revealed that manufacturing was the most enthusiastic sector, 61% replied with positive response, 52% from engineering, 49% from construction, 47% from transport and 37% from print.
The survey also showed that 57% of SME's business owners do not feel confident about the UK's economic outlook for 2017. Business owners with under £500k annual turnover, were the least confident - 64%.
The conclusion is that business owners are not taking a negative view, but are pragmatic about the UK's economic prospects over the next twelve months. They see 2017 as a time of significant opportunity.
