First UK trade Scodix service launched by Oriel

BPIF member, Oriel Printing Company, have launched www.tradescodix.co.uk in a bid to promote their trade Scodix print enhancement service in its own right.

The UV trade printer produces work on plastic and foil board as well as a range of paper and board products from its Kingston upon Hull site.

“We launched our trade Scodix service back in November 2016 and to celebrate being the first trade Scodix provider in the UK we thought we’d build a website dedicated to the stunning finishes on offer,” Says managing director Richard Simms “Our gallery page is linked to our Instagram account which we update regularly with current projects. I’m hoping people will take inspiration from the outstanding effects that can be created”

The Scodix Ultra Pro offers UV based polymer varnishing and spot foiling. There is no need to create a foil blocking die and the Scodix will give a raised gloss foil finish in one pass.

The B2 machine can digitally print spot foil or spot UV varnish (polymer) to enhance print whether it was packaging, greetings cards or commercial work.

Oriel have already exceeded expectations during the two months that they have been running the Scodix Ultra Pro plus foil machine which is proving to be a big hit.

Oriel have offered trade UV litho printing to the industry for 15 years and the trade Scodix service is a complimentary add-on. “Being a specialist UV printer means we can also print on top of the Scodix spot foil which can create hundreds of metallic colours and special effects, value added finishes like this really are something very special indeed, says Mr Simms. “We are currently working with a food producer to offer Scodix foil on to one of their packs in order to create a premium range. Things are looking good!”
