Patrick Howitt has died, aged 71

Former BPIF President and printing company owner, Patrick Howitt, has died at 71. He was a much loved figure in the industry and well known for driving change in print during the 80s and 90s.

He was President of the BPIF from 1997-1999 and was the owner and chairman of his family printing company, The John Howitt Group, until retiring in 2001.

Patrick will be missed by many, including those he worked with. Bob Loach, Chairman of FF Allsopp, spoke fondly of him, "Pat was very genuinely one of life's true Gentlemen and rarely can the often overused phrases "larger than life" and "lived life to the full" have been more appropriate. A very lovely man who will be sadly missed by all whose lives he touched."

His funeral will be held in South Africa, where he relocated to in his retirement. A memorial service will also be held in the UK.
