Order levels hold steady in Q1 - expectations for current quarter are more downbeat

The latest survey was carried out online during the period 2-16 April 2013 and consisted of 110 companies employing 8,043 people with a turnover of £0.9 billion.

In Printing Outlook this quarter:

  • Industry trends and quarterly forecasts
  • Pay review details
  • Expanded comment on the paper and board sector together with a paper price index, especially compiled for the BPIF by PPL Research Ltd
  • The latest print and packaging Red Flag Statistics, compiled especially for the BPIF by Begbies Traynor
  • The latest insolvency statistics for printing, paper and packaging from Experian
  • Comment and data on the Advertising sector from the Advertising Association / Warc Expenditure Report and the IPA Bellwether Report
  • CBI comment and assessment from their latest Economic Outlook reports.

Order levels were generally stable in the first quarter of this year and for the third quarter running, according to the latest BPIF Printing Outlook report published this week.
