How can the Printing Charity help somebody you know?
The Printers Charity might be of benefit to someone you know from the Industry. Take a look of the areas it offers help and it might be of great use to an individual you know.
The Printing Charity was set up in 1827 to help aged, infirm, and distressed printers and their widows when there was no state support. In response to changes in the printing industry and society since then, they have made the transition from a benevolent society to a charity using best practice adopted from the commercial sector.
The Printing Charity can help people in a number of ways. Below is a simply outline of the ways in which the charity can help.
Miscellaneous Grants - up to £960
Regular Financial Assistance (RFA) - up to £35 per week payable half yearly (March and September) The charity allows an average of £30 per week for utilities.
Residential Care Home 'Top Up' fees - up to £72 per week
Communications Help - up to £960
Holiday (carers) - up to £630 (couple) - up to £396 (single) - up to Â258 (Children (aged 2 to 15)
Home Adaptation - up to £1,320
Independent Living Help - up to £900 for training/educational costs for those with special needs - up to £114 per week for personal assistance costs
Mobility - up to £1,320
Nursing Home 'Top up' fees - up to £96 per week - up to £132 per week with /mental/health/dementia needs
Respite care:
Residential Care - up to £618
Nursing Care - up to £876
Day Centre - up to £60 per week
Care Service at home - up to £114 per week
Maximum of 4 paid respite weeks in any rolling 12 months.
Training Grants - up to £900
Trustee special approval - up to £3,600
Bereavement Allowance - up to £2,400
Winter weather grants - £90 payable to those in receipt of RFA during periods of prolonged cold weather
Educational grants (Print Futures) - up to £1,800 new recommendation
