BOSS members celebrate graduation success

A group of BOSS members graduated today after completing the Level 5 Graduate Programme in Leadership and Management. This was a BPIF initiative which benefited BOSS members too, involving a dynamic mix of training, development and networking opportunities for employees within the industry.

The day was a culmination of 180 learner's hard work across 2 years. Held at One Great George Street in London, fully gowned learners, their proud employers and guests, plus key supporters within the industry came together to celebrate learner's achievements.

The BOSS Federation would like to thank all the employers for their support throughout the programme.

I would personally like to thank the learners for their dedication to balancing the demands of a foundation degree level qualification against the stress of the workplace and family commitments - it has been inspiring.

Emily Jones, Divisional Manager Closed Loop, Banner comments:

"The course was a great learning platform and opportunity that allowed me to learn, evaluate and improve my role as a manager from both a personal and business perspective. The support and guidance throughout the course was first class and the team were always on hand to help when needed. I would certainly recommend the course to any manager whether junior or senior, who wants to learn more about leadership and management along with the appetite to enhance their career and personal development."

Pete Lambert, Warehouse Manager, Hamelin Brands comments:

"I previously had very little formal qualification from my education, leaving school for work aged 16, now having over 15 years distribution experience has served me well.I now have an excellent qualification to match this experience. It's been tough, but enjoyable, and meeting different people, and learning from them along the way has also been positive. I am particularly lucky to be in a position within my company where I do live and breathe daily most, if not all, of the areas I have covered and studied during the past couple of years. I would like to personally thank BPIF/BOSS, especially their highly motivated and professional people, and also importantly my boss, Philip Beer, who brought me this opportunity, and supported me with time and money to achieve my goal of graduation."

Philip Beer, Managing Director, Hamelin Brands comments:

"The opportunity for Pete to study and now achieve both a level 5 NVQ and foundation degree in Business management is fantastic. The encouragement from BPIF/ BOSS was timely as Pete had been discussing improving his understanding and experience outside of his functional business area. However, my real congratulations and respect goes to Pete for putting in the personal commitment alongside his day job to not only successfully complete all the modules, but also to stick to the schedule he set himself, that got him through with time to spare...CONGRATULATIONS Pete, you took the opportunity and ensured you succeeded ."
