BPIF arranges new insurance scheme

Following an extensive review of the insurance market, the BPIF has appointed AUM Group as the new providers of its insurance scheme, BPIF First. For the first time printers could qualify for specific discounts if they follow best practice health & safety. The scheme is the first in the UK to recognise tangibly the benefits of the BPIF health and safety Healthcheck, and AUM Group is the first insurance provider willing to offer specific discounts, relating to good health & safety practice, in the way that it calculates premiums . Cicely Brown, Commercial Director of the BPIF said that, “We are particularly proud of the latest scheme. We have championed health and safety and have been consistently disappointed that no insurer would recognise its importance, especially as the Association of British Insurers had endorsed it. Our new partners have worked with us in order to design a product that matches printers requirements and importantly could offer improved prices to those who use our Healthcheck initiative. As importantly, our new partners are culturally aligned, to a printer’s business and therefore we expect the relationship, from initial servicing to claims handling, to be greatly improved.” Mike Brady, Underwriting Manager, AUM Group added : “Health and safety is a key element of any printer’s business and, whilst it is not the only requirement, it is very important. The BPIF and its members have worked to improve health and safety and this will be reflected in our pricing.
