BPIF Cartons

At its AGM on 5 April 2005 members of the British Carton Association (BCA) voted for a change of name, a change of structure and a bright new future as BPIF Cartons Dominic Walsh, outgoing chairman, introduced the results of research carried out in conjunction with Pro Carton into the needs of the industry as expressed by members and non members. This research pointed to the continued need for an active, well supported and focussed trade association which brought together the benefits of the broad range of support from the BPIF and a focus on carton specific issues linking with other relevant industry bodies. The result is the creation, from the already successful BCA, of a dynamic “new” organisation – BPIF Cartons. This will combine the proven benefits of BPIF membership with the added value of carton specific events and initiatives. This new organisation also has a new team leading it starting with the appointment as President of John Monks, the respected former CEO of MY Packaging. John will provide the high profile independent leadership for the sector and will be backed up by new Chairman Mark Kerridge, Managing Director of Benson Box. John and Mark will be supported by BPIF Director Mike Hopkins, whose team will also provide administrative back up. We are also pleased to announce an initiative to strengthen the Executive Committee with a number of announcements expected over the next week. Your Executive Committee will further add to the team as and when necessary to strengthen the representation of all sectors of the industry. The first task for the Executive Committee will be to meet to put together a plan to give life to some of the issues and solutions identified in the survey carried out by consultant Neal Whipp, who will be continuing to work with BPIF Cartons to help implement the plan. If you have any views please feel free to speak to any member of the new team and we will be communicating with you next month. For further details please contact: Mike Hopkins [email protected]
