Printed Electronics: A new business opportunity for printing?
The relatively recent discovery of organic, soluble materials capable of exhibiting electrical properties similar to those of silicon semiconductors has rapidly emerged from the laboratory and opened the door to an entirely new and proliferate industry: Printed Electronics. In 2005, as a primary area of investment for leading technology companies and venture capitalists and with thousands of related patents being registered annually worldwide, the commercial possibilities for Printed Electronic applications are quite simply immense. Publishing company SPG Media is hosting an international conference on this subject which hopes to highlight the business opportunities as well as the technological innovation. Early bird 15% discount rates for the Printed Electronics conference (12th - 13th July 2005, Berlin, Germany) are available before 2 May 2005.
