The Wright leadership for the self adhesive label industry

The Wright leadership for the self adhesive label industry

At a meeting hosted by Manter UK, the British Roll Label Association (BRLA), a special interest group of the BPIF, elected Ian Wright, Managing Director of Harlands of Hull Ltd, as the new chairman. Ian replaces Andrew Scrimgeour, of Tinsley Robor Labels, who steps down after nearly four years in the role. In handing over Mr Scrimgeour said: “It was an honour to have served as chairman of this fantastic organisation. I am pleased to have found such a worthy successor who will be able to devote the time energy and leadership to take the BRLA forward.” One of Ian Wright’s first acts as chairman was to brief members of the results of a survey of members, the results of which will form the action plan for the BRLA’s work in 2005-2006. The focus demanded by members will be on improving profitability by the better handling of E-tendering and better purchasing, technical developments and sector specific training. A full year’s events and communications will be published to the BRLA’s 47 members next month. Ian Wright lead the buyout of Harlands from Grenadier Holdings in 2003, and in 2004 won the BPIF Turnround Company of the Year. Ian said on being elected: “It is a great honour to be appointed chairman of this important industry body. It is my aim to ensure we grow the membership of the BRLA , and in doing so make it a much more interesting and useful group for those participating organisations.” For details on the BRLA and how to join contact [email protected]
