Award to recognise innovation driving the Communications and Content industries

The Stationers' Company launch its Innovation Excellence Award for the Communication and Content industries in June 2014.

The Award aims to:

  • recognise the key role the Communications and Content sector plays in the UK economy
  • highlight outstanding innovation able to generate future growth and prosperity for the industries concerned

The Stationers' Company has been at the heart of the UK Communication and Content sector for over 600 years which, in broad terms, has evolved from writing on paper, to the printing of books and newspapers and now includes the world of digital content and media. Estimated to be worth £70bn, the industry contains around 20,000 companies.

The Innovation Excellence Award will recognise one of the greatest innovators in this sector, with the aim of providing inspiration for the sector generally. Industry bodies, trade associations and companies are being invited to co-operate in the nomination process to find a worthy winner from the previous 12 month period.

An independent panel of judges will be invited from among individuals and organisations such as the Chairman of the Technology Strategy Board; Chairman or President CBI; Minister/Senior Executive from Department of Business; Minister/Senior Executive from Department of Culture, Media and Sport; Senior Editorial Executive from Haymarket; Master, Worshipful Company of Stationers; Master, Worshipful Company of Marketors; Master, Worshipful Company of Information Technologists.

Those offered a Stationers' 2014 Innovation Excellence Award will be invited to a select awards ceremony at Stationers' Hall, London on the evening of Monday 30 June 2014.

BOSS Members' Day

Stationers' Hall, London

The BOSS Members' Day will return to Stationers' Hall, London on Wednesday 4 June.

Invitations to the CEO's Conference and Chairman's Lunch will be sent out shortly.

The CEO's Conference will take place in the morning with guest speaker Steve Turner, ex Olympic rower who now runs 'Bramley Lakes' - a learning and development company who run team building workshops based on Patrick Lencioni's 'Five Dysfunctions of a Team'.

The Annual General Meeting will take place in the afternoon, followed by refreshments and networking.
