BOSS Seal of Excellence

I was  very pleased to present to Aidan McDonough MD of Integra the BOSS Human Resources Seal of Excellence at the BOSS Young Managers Conference earlier this year in recognition of the work Integra have done in Human Resources.

The BOSS Federation has developed a number of healthchecks over the years in Human Resources, Health and Safety and Environmental topic areas. These have been delivered face to face by regional advisers and identify areas for improvement in legislative and industry best practice. Depending on a member's answers, the healthcheck report produces an action list in priority order allowing the company to concentrate on the most important areas systematically.

More recently members have been asking for endorsement of their achievements as they are very proud of their improvements and investment in these areas and would like to show their customers, visitors and staff what they have achieved. Recognition in the past has been shown through the BOSS Industry Awards, however not all companies have the resource available to enter the Awards. The BOSS Seal of Excellence can be worked towards with support from the BOSS Federation and allow your customers to see the areas in which you clearly excel.

To achieve the Seal of Excellence for a specific audit topic, a minimum score of 70% must be achieved with all mandatory areas being passed. Members will be asked to have information prepared ready for the visit for verification purposes. Feedback will be given on the day and the company representative and the BOSS adviser will agree the company position and any improvement work that is needed. The BOSS Seal of Excellence audit will be carried out every two years and the company score must be maintained or improved during this period to maintain its status.

Where a company achieves over 70% score and passes  all the mandatory fields in all three audit areas, in any two year period, then the company will be eligible for the ultimate accolade, the BOSS Seal of Business Excellence.

There will be no cost to Platinum members, whilst Gold and Silver members can pay the daily business rate for any audit and achieve any consequential Seals. To be awarded a Seal of Excellence you must be a member of the BOSS Federation.
