EcoPrint South East

Many printers tell us that they face difficulties getting on or staying on customers' preferred supplier lists if they can't demonstrate their environmental credentials. And for many, the cost of implementing an environmental standard is prohibitive, in terms of both time and money.

This is where the BPIF and Carbon Smart can now help. For the past year under the 'EcoPrint London' banner we have provided over 100 printing companies in the capital with environmental credentials that are straightforward and hassle-free - we are now planning to extend this to the rest of the South East.

Carbon Smart is a leading environmental and sustainability specialist providing environmental support to printers in London and the South East. The Programme will provide a company with a robust environmental policy to present to clients as well as a calculated carbon footprint and practical environmental action plan. The company will also be certified as a Carbon Smart business - the fastest growing environmental programme in the UK.

Priced at an affordable £875* plus VAT, the process is simple;

  • A half day site visit from a Carbon Smart expert to calculate the company's carbon footprint and identify energy and resource inefficiencies
  • A training workshop to equip the company with the skills and knowledge to take practical steps to reduce energy consumption and resource costs and tips on how to promote their environmental credentials to win more business.
  • Help to implement an environmental policy and carbon reduction action plan which will improve environmental performance and enable the company to achieve re-certification after a year

Participants will receive a Carbon Smart completion pack including certificate, artwork and guidance on communicating their green credentials to their customers.  Plus Carbon Smart Certified businesses are able to display the Carbon Smart logo on their website, marketing materials, stationery, vehicles and so on..

But don't just take our word for it. Those participants who have already gone through the process have found it both simple and thorough, but also due to its simplicity they have been able to use it to motivate their staff.

Liberty Services were one of the first companies to go through the EcoPrint programme. The Chairman, Gavin Reddin, said, "Carbon Smart is a very simple and direct approach based around an action plan that everyone can buy into. It is ideal at energising and motivating staff to embrace change."

The process also works well alongside any other environmental accreditations you may have. Project Manager, Tulo Akinyede from Richard Edward states, "Carbon Smart works alongside ISO 14001, and it's very practical and informative. It gives you an overview of your carbon footprint and makes you more aware of what you can do to improve it."

* The price of £875 plus VAT does not include reasonable travelling expenses (charged at cost).
