Fuel duty increase deferred until next year
On 27 June the Chancellor announced the Government will delay until, 1 January 2013, the 3.02 pence per litre fuel duty rise scheduled for 1 August.
One of the calls we made in our Pre-Budget submission was for this increase to be cancelled for the rest of this Parliament, and while the increase in fuel duty is still planned to take effect in the new year, this news is nevertheless still welcome at a time when printers and their suppliers are suffering the impact of high fuel costs.
