Techlan develops a solution for recycling waste release liners

Founded in 2009, Techlan is a highly innovative company that has developed technology to recycle waste silicone release liners. The family-owned company based in South Wales, uses its patented process to recycle liners from a wide range of industries including the aerospace and medical sectors; it has now developed a solution for waste release liners generated from the label industry. It is actively looking to assist label manufacturers recycle this type of waste.

Silicone release liners are a big problem within the label sector and they have been very difficult to recycle using a circular economy solution, until now!

Techlan’s process recycles the waste liner and manufactures it into Re-Liner; a 100% recycled silicone release liner. Circular economy is the purest form of recycling as it keeps natural resources in circulation for as long as possible, rather than destroying or incinerating them. The criteria for the waste that is acceptable for their recycling process is that it must be in roll format, a minimum of 300mm in width, unprinted and wound onto a core.

Techlan has over 30 years of waste coordination experience and works with label companies to set up cost-effective recycling systems. It is a certified carrier and processor of waste which operates a professional and prompt 48hour nationwide collection service for as little as 1 pallet, through to full trailer loads. The complimentary collection service significantly reduces costs for the label converter and lowers their environment impact. All waste collected is fully traceable and ensures a professional and reliable recycling solution.

This streamlined process underscores Techlan's commitment to practical sustainability solutions, paving the way for a greener future, one silicone release liner at a time.

It is actively looking to work with companies within the label sector that are generating this form of waste.
