We are a Government Gateway Kickstart Representative

What is the Kickstart Gateway Scheme?

The Kickstart scheme provides funding to create new job placements for 16-24 year olds who are at risk of long term unemployment.

Employers of all sizes can apply for the scheme which covers 100% of the National Minimum Wage, for 25 hours per week for a total of 6 months.

Start dates of the job placements can go up until the end of December 2021, which gives plenty of opportunity for flexibility and planning, where required. The BPIF can work with employers to understand this in more detail.

For more information on the scheme, take a look at the Government website here. But, for a quick summary and what the BPIF's responsibilities as a Kickstart Gateway, take a look below.

BPIF’s Responsibilities as a Kickstart Gateway

How we will support employers:

  1. Sharing relevant information about the jobs that are provided.
  2. Sharing our expertise about the Gateway programme.
  3. Ensuring funding payments are valid and properly incurred.
  4. Support with developing viable roles that qualify for the scheme.

How we will support young people:

  1. Provide help and support directly to young people employed through the kick start scheme with developing the skills to find work

Karly Lattimore, Managing Director - Training, says “ The BPIF are really excited to be approved as a Kickstart gateway supporting young people into new and exciting roles in our industry. This initiative could be the boost that a young person need to start their career in the print industry”
