80 year old YMP network hosts 69th annual conference

From 25-27 February 2005, the YMP network will host its 69th national conference at the De Vere Dunston Hall, Norwich with the theme of Business Knowledge and Individual Growth. Alongside the YMP Gala Awards dinner and AGM, the conference will take the form of a weekend long business simulation in teams. Lectures on 3 key business disciplines (sales and marketing, production control, finance and budgets) will be followed by the related part of the business simulation. Management training and team building company, Rhodes Event Management will, for the second time, collaborate with YMP on training for the conference. Their trainers will facilitate the weekend to ensure that every delegate will gain not just personal skills and experience but also valuable business lessons which they can transfer back to their individual workplaces. At the start of the weekend, delegates will complete a detailed questionnaire assessing personality traits and strengths and weaknesses, revealing their personality type and role within teams. At the end of the Conference, delegates will receive feedback from other delegates about how they are actually perceived. Prizes at the Gala Awards dinner will include the Collins Quaich prize, awarded to an individual YMP who has made a major contribution to the YMP Organisation during the previous year, the Alden Management Challenge Bowl, awarded annually to the regional YMP group that has shown most endeavour in pursuing management development, the W & G Baird Award for the regional YMP group who have enrolled the highest number of new members in the previous year, and the National Business Competition. Followed by the annual golf tournament.YMP national chairman, Andrew Denny is a firm believer in the benefits of the annual conference, ?The YMP Organisation has been providing quality training, personal growth and industry knowledge to people in printing for eighty years. In an industry which has changed beyond recognition, the YMP has adapted to meet the needs of modern business, staying fresh and energetic, which is why we can say the YMP is not 80 years old, but 80 years young.?
