Impact to industry regarding proposed revision to Workplace Exposure Limits

The Health and Safety Executive are in the process of looking at the Occupational Exposure Limit Values  on the following substances 1,4-dichlorobenzene and 2- ethylhexanol.

At the moment they are non-binding limits, which will eventually be introduced as Workplace Exposure Limits (WELs) in the UK.. they are trying to establish the likely impact on industry of introducing the proposed new limits (which might not be for 18 months - 2 years or so),

We would be grateful if you could provide us with any  concerns regarding changes to the WELs for the above substances. Attached is a questionnaire we would like companies that are affected to complete and return to [email protected] by 30 January 2015.

The proposed revisions to the WELs for 1,4 dichlorobenzene and 2-ethylhexanol outlined below:



These proposed revisions are to be considered at a Working Party on Chemicals meeting in February 2015.
