The Printing Charity unveiled its 2014 newspaper-themed calendar on 3 October at the RKB Gallery in London. The calendar has been produced in collaboration with Earth Island Publishing and companies in the printing industry.

To illustrate the newspaper theme, industry figures dressed up to portray their own take on news stories. The calendar's cast of headline stars are: Paul Simpson from Renz; Sarah Crumpler from Duplo International; Trevor Crawford and Mary Buck from Informa (Ipex);  Chas Moloney from Ricoh; Clive Harper and Kirk Ritchie from  Ink&Print;  Barry Jones from  Barry Jones & Co;  Leanne Beattie from Industrial Inkjet; Steve Wicks from Greenprint Consultancy; Ian Sullivan from Paperhat Consorcio; Barry Singleton from GMG; Kelvin Bell and Tim Cox from Vpress; David McGuiness from Kodak; Vanessa Peel from TPG Training & Consultancy; and the Earth Island team: Mark Jessup; Bex Jessup; Susan Wright; Mike Morris; Louise Gamage; and David Gamage.

The calendar was designed by Paul Warren of Real Ripple Media, the photography was by Darren Stevens of Picfree and Susan Wright of Earth Island Publishing wrote the content. It was printed by Konica Minolta on paper supplied by Premier Paper and finished by Renz. Mad World in Crawley supplied the costumes, Clifford Burt arranged the launch venue, and Andy Harris and Canon provided the large promotional posters, which were printed by Ricky Snell at ARC.

Jon Wright, The Printing Charity's Chairman, said at the launch: "This is the fourth year that this initiative has brought together individuals and companies in the printing industry, giving their time and services free to produce the calendar to support The Printing Charity. We are very grateful for all this support."

The Printing Charity's 2014 calendar is available for a suggested donation of £5.00 per calendar and can be ordered by contacting Alison Braganza at The Printing Charity on 01293 649 366 or emailing her at [email protected]
