Darren Coxon, Managing Director of Pensord, joins the BPIF Board.

The BPIF are delighted to welcome Darren Coxon to the BPIF Board. CEO of the BPIF Kathy Woodward said ‘‘it is fantastic to have such a multitude of experience and diversity of skills on the BPIF Board. I feel the appointment of Darren will help add to this and ensure the BPIF Board’s effectiveness this year’’.

Darren Coxon is managing director of Pensord, the specialist short-run, sheet-fed controlled circulation magazine printer based in the South Wales Valleys. The £13m turnover company employs over 140 people and prints over 400 regular titles in the largely independent publisher sector. This year Pensord became the BPIF Company of the Year (over £5m annual turnover) in their Excellence Awards 2012.

Darren led a management buyout of the company in 2010 with operations director Karl Gater, after joining the company as commercial director in 2002 and has a career lifetime of experience in the print industry. Since 2010 the business has recorded a record sale in 2011 and has invested heavily in both print and online technologies to deliver increasingly better service, quality, value and innovation to its publishing clients.

Darren said of his appointment: “It’s a great privilege to be invited to join the BPIF Board of Directors, one of the country’s leading trade organisations. Our award-winning work at Pensord brings us face to face with many of the issues confronting the printing industry today, and I hope to add further value to the wealth of experience which already sits around the BPIF Board table to help safeguard the future interests of printers in the UK.”
