The BPIF host Parliamentary Dinner
BPIF President Tony Garnish, along with G&IC Chairman Nigel Lyon (Pinstripe Print), G&IC members Chris Smith (Halstan) and Tony Bellis (3M UK), BPIF CEO Kathy Woodward, Marketing and Communications Director Alison Harper, and Public Affairs Adviser Andrew Brown, hosted a Parliamentary Dinner at the House of Commons for Lord (Martin) O’Neill of Clackmannan (Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Print Group), Nicky Morgan MP (Con – Loughborough), Marcus Jones MP (Con - Nuneaton), Tony Baldry MP (Con - Banbury) and Gerry Sutcliffe MP (Lab – Bradford South). During the evening the BPIF were able to discuss at length a number of key concerns in relation to public procurement, pre-packs, support funding for small firms and the need to incentivise apprenticeship recruitment.
The BPIF is regularly consulted by the government regarding the formulation of public policy. The government and other decision-makers depend on a good flow of information and views from those who may be affected. We also lobby Government proactively to advocate changes in legislation or regulations that would benefit the industry or to challenge those that would impact adversely on it. Copies of BPIF submissions to Government can be downloaded from the BPIF website
