BPIF welcome three new Board members

BPIF welcome three new Board members

We are delighted to announce that Doug Kinsman, Operations Director of SG World; Mark Roberts, Managing Director of Acorn Web Offset; and Robin Sumner, Managing Director of Romax have joined the BPIF Board of Directors. All have held positions on BPIF Regional Boards, helping to represent member's views in each region.

Doug has worked in the printing industry for over 20 years having begun his career as a Graduate Trainee Manager with Bowaters in their Security Print Division in Northern Ireland.
After his initial training he then moved to manage one of their divisions which operated from a site in Crewe. Having a passion for technology and recognising that IT could be an enabler for change, Doug chose to return to University to gain a Postgraduate qualification in IT with a view to switching careers. Ironically his career has now gone full circle and in his role as the Operations Director for SG World Ltd, where he has responsibility for both IT and software development and is now also back in charge of a printing facility - the best of both worlds.

Since joining Acorn in 1991, Mark has held various roles including Trainee Estimator through to Customer Service, Production Management, Pre-Press and Sales Management. He took up the role of Managing Director following the MBO of Acorn from its parent company in 2009. During his time at Acorn Mark has been instrumental in developing sales and investment strategies to support its focus as a specialist printer of A4 and A5 products. Mark is passionate about developing people, himself and the benefits print can bring to the wider communications and media industries. Mark leaves his position of Chairman of the BPIF's North East Regional Board.

Robin is Managing Director of Greenwich based, £4million turnover, Romax. He has been helping marketing professionals with their print and personalised communication requirements for over 20 years, supplying data-driven printed marketing services, and direct mail. Robin is a massive advocate of print as part of the marketing mix, and challenges anyone to have a frank discussion around the need to include quality, tangible print within any marketing campaign for best results.

BPIF President, Darren Coxon, said, "I'd like to welcome Mark Roberts, Robin Sumner and Doug Kinsman to the Board as Non-Executive Directors, all of whom are highly credible appointments and will - I am certain - add huge value. In addition I'd like to congratulate Ian Wilton on his appointment as Vice President. In my short time as President Ian has been a great support and we've worked very well together. These appointments strengthen the Board still further and will ensure the BPIF is in secure hands moving forward."

Charles Jarrold, BPIF CEO, commented, "I'm delighted that Robin, Doug and Mark are joining our Board as Non-Executives. Each of our Non- Executives combine extensive industry experience from a diverse range of businesses with familiarity of the scope of the BPIF's activities, and will play an active and valuable role in helping our Executive Team develop the BPIF's support for UK Print.''
