BPIF delivers technical expertise online

The BPIF has re-packaged its considerable technical knowledge of the industry into an online resource for members. www.PrintTechnologyWarehouse.com will be a comprehensive virtual warehouse of information, contacts and reports containing information such as Troubleshooting Guides, Pressroom Performance Standards, supplier sourcing database and a comprehensive and searchable database of independent engineers as well as Frequently Asked Questions derived from the hundreds of queries answered by the BPIF’s technical team each year. BPIF Technical Adviser, Peter Vincent, comments: “PrintTechnologyWarehouse.com will be a portal for the graphic arts industry, whether printer, buyer or service provider. Its priority focus will be the BPIF membership and, in the future, the site will provide information relating to all aspects of industry technologies, equipment and software. PrintTechnologyWarehouse.com will bring together information sources from around the world to provide a living, growing source of vital information in today's competitive business environment.” The BPIF covers many facets of the graphic arts industry and has a strong reputation for its work in areas such as health and safety, environment, and law. The BPIF also provides a technical service for members which covers everything from simple advice, technical troubleshooting, dispute resolution through to consultancy for investment as well as technology health-checks. Both Spindrift technology magazine, published by industry guru and MD of Digital Dots, Laurel Brunner and research specialists CAPVentures are supporting the launch by providing information, free to BPIF members. Laurel Brunner says: "We are very pleased to be working with the BPIF, and very flattered that the BPIF consider our content of sufficient interest for its membership. In the coming months we will be covering a range of digital production issues, that will hopefully be highly relevant to the BPIF members and their customers." Ralf Schlözer, Senior Consultant On Demand Printing & Publishing Services, InfoTrends / CAP Ventures is also a keen participant: "InfoTrends/CAP Ventures is pleased to collaborate with BPIF on the Technology Warehouse website initiative and to support the initiative with our digital printing market expertise." Whilst information will principally relate to technology, there will be additional information such as events calendars, case study spotlights, market segment information, publications, ideas and information to aid technology investment planning. Some general information areas of PrintTechnologyWarehouse.com will be available to non-members by way of introduction to the BPIF Technology services. Most information, however, will be restricted to members using their normal log-on. Some sections will be provided free to Platinum members only. We will keep you updated as new sections develop. www.PrintTechnologyWarehouse.com.
