HR trends – what's happening in your region?

The BPIF HR Team travel the length and breadth of the country, advising members on a wide range of HR issues. Check out what seems to be recurring themes across our regions. Do your business's HR issues align with them?

  • Encouraging Managers to hold difficult conversations when managing long term sickness absences.
  • Coaching Line Managers to have difficult conversations with employees who may have problems with alcohol.
  • Advising on the risks to members who do not wish to follow HR processes, especially with the removal of tribunal fees.
  • Long term sick management, some with potential discrimination claims arising.
  • Performance management issues/restructuring in particular within Senior Management roles.
  • Recruitment for Apprenticeships.
  • Misconduct cases.
  • Salary benchmarking, reviewing roles and salaries which has resulted in a restructure and change in terms and conditions. It has created a need for succession planning.
  • Redundancies continue throughout all regions.
  • Encouraging members to have an annual HR Healthcheck.
  • Increased pay out expectations from employees.

If you have an issue you need to discuss with BPIF HR, call the team on 01676 526051.
