BPIF member relationship with art and commerce has been successful for all

BPIF member relationship with art and commerce has been successful for all

Bob Pain, Managing Director of London based OmniColour and K2 has a strong relationship with the contemporary art world not least his great taste in art on his office walls. OmniColour produce large format digitally and screen for retail clients and fine art editions to vinyl graphics. Bob has an affinity and love of the art world and artists, and he has worked with many new artists producing limited edition prints through to their commercial successes as recognised artists on the global stage. It was this relationship which was more than just a commercial arrangement, where art, artisanship, craft and patronship created success for all parties.

Something that will resonate with those who have started a business is, 'The Legend of the Omni Spoon' which Bob has in a case in his offices... When Omni was established in March 1993, they had only one (stolen) tea spoon with which to stir tea and coffee, no need for a decadent set of six spoons, they were made of sterner stuff. Legend decreed that should the spoon be lost, the future of the business would be in grave jeopardy. After 20 years the spoon is still with them cast in an acrylic block. A new set of spoons had since been bought.

Bob produces the Omnipendent magazine an overview of his work with the art world and latest exhibitions by up and coming artists and well know ones.

Bob also organises the annual Omni Terrier Derby at Epsom, with the 15th annual event happening on 27 August, raising money for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. www.terrierderby.com
