Start-up printer joins the BPIF
White Star printing based in Chandler’s Ford recently joined the BPIF. Established in the Autumn of 2015, the printer is on target to achieve its first year turnover goal of £750,000.
The two directors, Max Middleton and Dave Swann have worked together in other print businesses and bring a wealth of experience to the table. Machinery investment includes an H-UV B2 four-colour Komori, two Konica Minolta digital machines, finishing equipment and an MIS system. Regional Growth Funding and Close Asset Finance have funded this new venture.
The Komori offers quick turnaround times, improved quality and quick drying. Middleton states "we’ve started here with a lab-like environment and with H-UV curing we will keep it that way." The process has helped secure a number of clients and the business continues to grow month on month. Business has been secured across the South of England.
In the future the firm is considering investing in wide-format and additional finishing kit.
"We are above expectations so far, work has come from various businesses and sectors and we are just starting to run 24 hour shifts" said Middleton.
