Skills benchmarking project
The BPIF is working with the CBI to produce case studies of employer good practice in employee skills development, in order to develop a set of guidelines to help employers benchmark their own progress in training their staff. The final report, which is being funded by the Department for Education and Skills, will be launched in November as part of the government’s EU Presidency events. The project will be a useful vehicle to further industry lobbying for improved provision for work-based training, says Ruth Exelby, head of BPIF Training. “It is important that training is demand-led and employers should be able to choose where they send their trainees, rather than having their choice of training dictated by where the funding is. Many employers and employees would like the flexibility that work-based training courses offer them, and I hope that the Skills Benchmarking report will persuade government of the value of work-based training to employers and trainers alike.” If you feel that your company could provide a case study of good practice in skills development, please contact Lizzy Hawkins on 020 7915 8319 or email [email protected].Pay Review Data, Wage Benchmarking and Cost of Living – MAY 2024 UPDATE
