BPIF looks back on a year of investment

Finance Director Carolyn Payne described the past twelve months as “ a year of investment in people, property and representation” at the BPIF’s AGM in Sheffield on 4 July. Presenting the organisation’s annual accounts for approval, she explained that the BPIF had invested “both in resources for growth in BPIF services and in BPIF and in developing the industry as a whole”. Over £100K had been invested in the industry’s Sector Skills Council (Proskills), in CBI membership and in the representation of members’ interests in Europe through Intergraf, in addition to important industry projects, new member services and new premises. Notwithstanding this investment however, the BPIF had still returned an operating surplus of £83K, with income up 6%, taking its turnover to £6.2m. Members’ funds had risen by over £700k to just over £1m, despite reducing pension deficit by £300K to 1.8m.
