Opening up opportunities in digital

Opening up opportunities in digital

Xante is now working with CyanX to bring its digital solutions to a wider range of customers in the UK.

With its range of exciting solutions, Xante is well known for innovating when it comes to digital print. Its range includes the En/Press digital multimedia press, the Impressia digital multimedia press, the Ilumina Heavyweight Champion digital press, the Excelagraphix 4800 digital package printer, and the new X-32 industrial production UV printer, which opens up a number of new opportunities in the speciality print market for users. All Xante print systems are powered by the powerful and flexible iQueue workflow software.

US based Xante has a European headquarters in the Netherlands, but now print companies in the UK can benefit from a closer collaboration with the supplier through its latest distributor CyanX.

‘I am extremely excited to have CyanX as part of the Xante team,’ said Mark Priede, vice president of worldwide sales and marketing at Xante. ‘CyanX will bring a wealth of knowledge and support to its customer base in the digital print production and wide format marketplace. The company is well respected, and we are thrilled to have CyanX as the face of Xante in the UK.’

Initially, CyanX will offer the Xante En/Press, Excelagraphix 4800, and the X-32.

Exciting prospects

‘This is a very exciting opportunity for CyanX to enter the growing digital market in the UK,’ remarked Richard Mawson, managing director of CyanX.

Based in Leeds, but working across the UK and Europe, CyanX already supplies a wide variety of specialty production printing equipment including LED-UV products, cold foiling equipment, humidification systems, paper handling equipment, and much more.

As part of the Xante distribution agreement, the company will also supply complementary consumables suitable for use with digital print engines. It will also be certified to provide Xante parts and service to UK print companies as well.

‘CyanX will be carrying stock of all consumables and fixed life expectancy spare parts for same day or next day delivery,’ said Richard. ‘In the event of a major failure, parts will be shipped from the hub in Holland. We are making plans for two of our service technicians to visit the hub in Holland for training courses on the full range of machines.’

To complement the new distribution agreement, Richard added: ‘We have also been talking to TechNova regarding supplying its digital print media and digital signage media, so will be able to offer these to both Xante and any other digital print users in the near future.’

Adding value

CyanX has already looked at the growth in digital as an opportunity, but the company is careful to choose only those partners that are the right ‘fit’. ‘We are always open to offers of new agencies but usually we turn them down,’ explained Richard. ‘We have looked at moving into the digital print market, but most manufacturers already have sales, consumables, spares and service tied up with one dealer, which makes it difficult for us to offer alternative supplies.

‘When Xante made contact and Mark Priede came from the USA to visit us we knew this was a great opportunity and time for us to enter the digital print market.’

Print companies in the UK will be able to see the new devices live at the CyanX headquarters in Leeds. Richard explained, ‘We have an unused reception area and plan to use this as a demo centre. CyanX is located less than two miles from both air and rail networks so any long-distance prospective customer can travel here in a day to see what we have to offer. Initially we will be taking delivery of our first En/Press and then will be looking to add an X-32.’

The beauty of the Xante machines is their real added value. Although they have comparatively small footprints and are very effective – both in terms of investment and running costs – they also benefit from extremely fast speeds, incredible productivity and high-quality output.

Richard continued, ‘We will be aiming the Xante range at all print companies; these machines can offer added value which is ‘the’ big positive at the moment. For instance, we have interest in the height adjustable table X-32 from companies specialising in personalised products now. The En/Press will be of great benefit to direct mail and marketing companies especially with the ability to print envelopes at speed.’

‘The Xante agency will certainly open many new opportunities for us,’ concluded Richard.
