BPIF Members’ Day 2022

BPIF Members’ Day 2022

This year’s BPIF Members’ Day was a huge success, with a great turnout of members and MPs.

On Wednesday 6th July the day kicked off at the St Bride Foundation with a welcome speech from Charles Jarrold, BPIF CEO, followed by our Training Awards. The series of awards are a celebration of the amazing work our industry does in investing in the learning and development of staff.

The winners of the Training Awards included Jake Warren from Graphic Packaging International, Kerry Szydelko from Kolorcraft Group, Chase Carter-Johnson from Go Inspire Group, Tom Sene from Alexir Partnership, Olivia Orr from Frome Printworks and Alaric Weightman from Amcor Flexibles.

We also announced our winner for the Kathy Woodward Award- Rebekah Selwood-Starr from Berkshire Labels. The award, sponsored by Webmart, was launched in 2015 in memory of the BPIF’s much-loved CEO who sadly passed away.

After the excitement of the awards we were very lucky to have the opportunity to hear from two great speakers – Richard Archer, Commercial Director, Cactus Graphics and BPIF Apprentice who shared his inspiring story, and motivational speaker Paul Sloane who shared his thought-provoking ideas on lateral thinking, innovation, and leadership.

We then held the BPIF Annual General Meeting before departing to the House of Lords for the Print Industry Reception. Networking on the terrace was the perfect setting to end the day! We heard from Lord Teverson MP and Louisa Bull from Unite the Union.

At the House of Lords, The Victor Watson Award was presented to Ethan Hull from Northend. The Trophy was launched in memory of Victor Watson CBE Dl to recognise a Young Person of Outstanding Achievement, and was sponsored by The Printing Charity. It was also at the House of Lords that the well-deserved Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Printing Industry was presented to Jacky Sidebottom-Every.

We hope all attendees enjoyed BPIF Members’ Day 2022, took the opportunity to celebrate together, and have some key takeaways to bring into the workplace.
