Information

An interdisciplinary workshop to foster cross-university research collaborations and new partnerships in the area of food waste. The workshop takes the broadest definition of issues associated with food waste covering everything from production and process waste, supply chain issues, consumer behaviour, recycling of plastics, alternative packaging options, redistribution via charities and processing/disposal activities, etc.
It includes challenges and solutions at all levels from the individual consumer/organisation, UK focused issues and global issues/applications. This event should be of interest to researchers working in a variety of disciplines including food/nutrition, sustainability, engineering, social sciences, business, health, transport, etc. In short, anyone working on any area connected to or that could be applied to food waste is welcome and encouraged to attend.
The event will include lightning presentations showcasing research in relevant areas, presentations from external organisations with interests in this area and those attending will work together to develop prototype research grant applications for research funders (e.g. Innovate, Global Challenge Research Fund, BBSRC, NERC, EPSRC).
