Functional Skills are skills considered to be essential for young people and adults to participate fully in life, both socially and within learning and employment.

Functional skills qualifications are available in the following subjects;

• English
• Maths
• ICT

Functional skills can be taken at two different levels;

Level 1 - equivalent to GCSE grade E-D
Level 2 - equivalent to GCSE grade C-A*

This workshop is designed to prepare attendees for the formal assessment, which is by way of examination. The exam can be completed traditionally on paper, or electronically on a laptop.
