Industry H&S resource boosted as BPIF recruits two new advisors
The BPIF has boosted its regional H & S team by 100% with the addition of two new advisors. Tom Rayer, formerly with BPIF member Southernprint, will cover the south and south-west (replacing Jonathan Ionides who retired recently) and Simon Lunken will be based in the south-east and the east of England. Tom and Simon join current advisors Liz Cheetham and Dale Wallis.Simon Lunken joins the BPIF from West Suffolk Hospital NHS Trust in Bury St Edmunds where he was responsible for promoting the health and safety of the Trust?s 2,800 employees. Tom Rayer was previously health, safety and environmental manager at Southernprint where his responsibilities included both health and safety, and environmental management for its Poole site, which in 2003 won the BPIF?s Safety Award. Both Simon and Tom also have extensive experience training workforces in good health and safety practices which Dale plans to use extensively in their new roles within the BPIF. ?Whilst the BPIF H & S healthcheck will give a company an excellent assessment of its current position with a detailed action-plan to move forward, it?s vital that companies develop a culture of safety. Both Tom and Simon have shown they can achieve this and I have no doubt that they will play a key role in continuing to promote responsible workplaces throughout our industry.?The BPIF H & S team delivers subscription services to BPIF platinum members and supports the BPIF?s commercial business improvement service, BPIF Business, where they work alongside 30 associate consultants on H & S projects and management schemes throughout the country.Tom, Simon and Dale will be advising on the BPIF?s stand 135 at Digital Print World where visitors will also be able to book free 20 minute advice sessions and take part in the BPIF?s online H & S healthcheck.
