PrintIT! now registering schools & signing up twinning printers for year 2

PrintIT!, the nationwide scheme created by Picon to encourage young people to consider the printing industry as a career, and sponsored by BPIF, has launched its second year with more than 300 schools registered for the programme and still two months to go before the final entry date. Of these at least 50 are new this year. Many schools from the first year have entered again including Pleckgate High School, Blackburn whose Graphics Products teacher, Philip Thompson, on registering this time said, “I did the PrintIT! work last year and found it an extremely fruitful experience (no pun intended). Thank you to all the team for such a magnificent project, from start to finish. I could not commend the result of all your joint efforts, too highly. The project is a real practical support to teachers at the sharp end, and consists of excellent resources - a great stimulus to our young people”. Schools can register throughout the school holidays and right up to 15 September by visiting the PrintIT! website at www.printit.org.uk so if you know of a school which you think would benefit please point them in that direction or get them to email on Mary Buck or call her on 01986 893197. Click here to visit the Print IT! website if you are a printer and would like to know more about “twinning” with one or more of the participating schools in your area.
