New measures to tackle late payment introduced

In February, former Business Minister Matthew Hancock MP announced that the government-backed Prompt Payment Code will now promote 30-day payment terms as standard, with a 60-day maximum limit. Unless signatories can prove exceptional circumstances for longer terms, they will be removed from the Code.

The year kicked-off almost precisely as expected in terms of output; and significantly better with regard to the number of orders. One-third of printers increased output in Q1, marginally more than had expected to, according to the latest Printing Outlook survey.

PaperlinX - are you affected?

On April 1, PaperlinX's well publicised challenges culminated in the UK business appointing Deloitte as Administrators. With immediate effect, over 690 of the 1200 staff were made redundant and around 14 out of 20 sites closed. These steps were drastic, but not totally unpredicted.
