Media Market Place a Success

Media Market Place a Success

Virtual Reality became real at Media Market Place on the 26th of April at Elland Road.

The unique gathering captured the imagination of the full range of the supply chain in the Creative and Digital Industries. With over 50 exhibitors and more attendees than ever before, the printing industry led the way to showcase the full extent of expertise in companies throughout the region and beyond.

Visitors from Europe flew in for the day to enjoy the exhibition and the high profile speaker programme – one of the speakers, James Sommerville of Attik Design announced on the day that he has been appointed vice-president of global design at Coca-Cola. BSkyB revealed how they manage to outsource their print and the event was well supported by the agencies that make a difference, UKTI, Leeds City Region, LEP and Leeds, York and North Yorkshire Chamber. The first ‘retail’ 3D printing machine was on display along with a world’s first in commercially viable printable electronics.

Publishing partners Cross Media Magazine heralded the day as a great success and are keen to start planning MMP 3.

BPIF’s Robert McClements CEO PrintYorkshire said, “The feedback from Media Market Place has been truly exciting, the recurring comment is how much new technology was on display and how the exhibiting companies are showing innovation leading from print into the realms of cross media and multi-channel marketing. I would like to thank all our sponsors without whom the event would have not been possible.”
