Print Futures Awards Scheme to treble in size

Print Futures Awards Scheme to treble in size

The Printing Charity boosts its aid to young people in print to £30,000

The Print Futures Awards, the scheme for young people in printing, publishing and the graphic arts, sponsored by The Printing Charity, Unite the Union and the British Printing Industries Federation (BPIF) is set to more than treble in potential size.

The Printing Charity, the lead sponsor of the awards scheme now in its tenth year, is injecting £30,000 into the 2013 programme which, together with the contribution from Unite and the BPIF, will mean that up to 20 Awards will be available this year.

Stephen Gilbert, Chief Executive of The Printing Charity, explains: “Our trustees have decided to further back our work amongst young people. In these tough economic times, it is good news that this extra help is available for young people aged 16-30 years seeking training and education for a career in printing, publishing and the graphic arts, including those already working in the UK industry who want to develop their skills and improve their earning ability.”

The Awards, worth up to £1,500 each for winners who make it through a stringent selection process, launched on 11 January 2013. Winners will receive their Print Futures Awards at a prestigious presentation ceremony to be held at the House of Lords, in London, in July.

For more information and an application form, please contact Terry Ulrick, Awards Secretary, on 44 (0)7850 105027, email: [email protected] or go to www.printfuturesawards.com where you can also download the application form.

Completed application forms need to be returned to Terry Ulrick by the closing date of 31 May 2013.
