New Digital Interest Group launched this month
Open exclusively to all BPIF member printing companies with an interest in digital printing. The aim is to let them get to grips with change, in the form of new ideas and technologies. Its objectives are 'education leading to innovation resulting in profitable success via manageable internal change.'
The group is facilitated by Jo Lloyd, who has been involved in the printing and publishing industries for more than 25 years, remaining currently active within client companies, as well as being one of the consultants within the Canon Essential Business Builder Program. Ms Lloyd focuses on training and innovation on a personal level, and will be involving industry experts throughout the development of the group to cover all areas of potential interest and learning.
Additionally within the BPIF, Dale Wallis and Daniel Godden are actively involved in the day-to-day planning of events.
The group will offer webinars, national and regional workshops and seminars, and regional networking lunches. There will also be a dedicated website with news and links to items of interest.
The first webinar will be held today on 26 September, entitled 'Intelligent Print Recognition from Documobi.' The Documobi system is said to make any piece of print digital and interactive in less than 30 seconds through cloud based Intelligent Print Recognition software. A recording of this webinar will be availble for download from www.bpifdigital.org.uk
The second, to be held at 1:00pm on the 11 October, will cover Taopix's Photobook software.
There will also be a 'face to face' event in London called 'Meet the Buyers', on 30 October.
As part of the BPIF, the group will also be able to offer other services, including health & safety and employment advice.
Annual membership of the BPIF Digital group is £252, or £21 per month.
Ms Lloyd says that the group is also looking for members who would like to get involved in running and coordination.

22 February 2024
Performance in the UK's printing and printed packaging industry did improve in Q4, as far as output and orders are concerned. However, it didn't come close to what would historically be considered the seasonal norm, nor quite match the subdued expectations for Q4.
